This calculator estimates the bandwidth an analog video path must carry for a given resolution and refresh rate. It derives the highest fundamental frequency from the pixel count and refresh (pixel rate over two), then triples it so the path passes the third harmonic, the standard system-bandwidth rule. Enter the resolution and refresh rate to get the megahertz the cabling and switching must clear end to end.
