Streaming Bitrate Calculator
This calculator sets an encoder bitrate target with the industry Kush-gauge method: pixels times frame rate times a motion rank of 1, 2, or 4, times 0.07. A codec factor adjusts for H.265 and AV1 at their typical published efficiency against H.264. The result comes back with audio added, a recommended uplink at 1.5 times the stream, and the data consumed per streamed hour. Constrain the target by the platform ingest cap and the venue's measured upload before going live.
